Surry Spay/Neuter Clinic Policies
Payment is due at drop off on day of surgery. We accept cash or money order only. NO CREDIT CARDS OR CHECKS.
Pets must be at least 2lbs and 12 wks old to be eligible for surgery.
Drop off is between 7:30 and 8:00 in the morning. Please make sure you bring your vaccine records. Please have cat carriers marked with your first and last name and your pet's name.
Pets must be fasted the night before surgery. No food after midnight for adult pets. Puppies and kittens can be fed a small amount of food in the morning. Water is okay at all times.
Pick up times vary based on drop off times. Please pay careful attention and ensure you are on time. We will not call you to remind you to come. Pets that are not picked up before closing will be charged an emergency overnight fee.
All pets must be up to date on their rabies vaccine. Proof from a veterinarian is required. A rabies tag will not be accepted as proof. If rabies vaccine is not up to date you will be required to purchase one on the day of surgery. We strongly recommend the distemper vaccine in dogs and cats, heartworm testing dogs and felv/fiv testing cats prior to surgery, but these are not required.
Please do not bring sick pets in for surgery. We rely on you to know if your pet has had any signs of illness such as vomiting, diarrhea, coughing, discharge from eyes or nose. If you have concerns please let us know right away.
All dogs must be leashed. Cats MUST be in carriers, NO EXCEPTIONS! Feral cats may be brought in traps.
We require 72 hour cancellation notice. Last minute cancellations and no shows will not be rescheduled. You will have the option of coming in as a stand by on a later date.
Pets over the age of 8 years are considered geriatric. We highly recommend a full blood screen completed 1 week prior to surgery for these pets.
